Getting started
Three things stand between you and a finished migration:
- An account on the Graftport platform, scoped to your tenant.
- A source platform connection — credentials for the merchant’s current store (Magento or Shopify-as-source).
- A destination connection — an Admin API token for the Shopify store you’re migrating into.
Once those are in place you create a migration, pick which resources to move (products, customers, orders, …), accept or fork the default mappings, and start a run.
Read these in order
- Your account — sign-in, tenants, and what you can see vs what teammates see.
- Your first migration — a guided walk through the New Migration wizard.
- Concepts — the model behind the screens. Worth the fifteen minutes before your second migration.
A word on time
A typical first migration takes:
- 5–15 minutes to create and configure if mappings don’t need customization.
- An hour to a day if you’re forking mapping templates for merchant-specific quirks.
- Anywhere from minutes to hours to run, depending on catalog size and Shopify’s rate limits.
Start with an extract-only run on a real source. It’s the fastest way to confirm credentials, see real data shapes, and decide which mappings need overrides — without writing anything to Shopify.
