Connected stores
The Stores page (in the sidebar) holds every Shopify store connected to your workspace. Connect a store once and reuse it across migrations — as a source, a destination, or both. This is especially handy when you rehearse against a demo store before pointing the same migration at the live store.
From the Stores page you can also jump straight to a store’s Shopify admin or its storefront, and you can connect stores ahead of time, before any migration or mapping exists.
Connecting a store
Open Stores and click Connect store
Enter the store’s .myshopify.com domain.
Choose how to connect
- Graftport app (recommended) — one click, nothing to set up in Shopify. Includes access to the full order history.
- Your own app — bring the client ID and secret of a Shopify app you control. Unless Shopify has granted that app “read all orders” access, order extracts are limited to the last 60 days. The Stores list shows a “60-day limit” badge on such connections.
Approve in Shopify
You are sent to the store’s admin to review and approve the access. After approving, you land back on the Stores page with the store listed.
Connecting writes nothing. Adding a store here only makes its credentials available to pick from. You choose it as a source or a destination when you set up a migration, and you can uninstall the app from this list at any time.
Using a connected store
Wherever a migration needs Shopify credentials, a store dropdown appears alongside the manual fields:
- New migration wizard — pick the source store (Shopify sources and in-place migrations) and the destination store from the dropdown instead of pasting tokens. No store connected yet? Use the Connect a store button right there — you’re sent to Shopify to approve and come straight back to the wizard. Credentials you typed on the Source step aren’t kept while you’re away, because they’re never stored in your browser, so the wizard returns you to that step to enter them again.
- Migration edit page — “use a connected store” under either side’s credentials, e.g. to switch a rehearsed migration from the demo store to the live one.
Tokens never appear in the UI; picking a store applies its credentials server-side.
Installing from Shopify
You can also start from the Shopify side: installing the Graftport app on a store sends you to Graftport to finish connecting. If you aren’t signed in yet, log in or create your account first — the store then appears on your Stores page, ready to use. The connect link is valid for 24 hours; if it expires, reinstall the app from Shopify to get a fresh one.
Removing a store
Removing a connection stops it from being offered on new migrations. Migrations that already use its credentials keep working until you change them.
Uninstalling the Graftport app from the Shopify admin removes the store’s connection here automatically (Shopify also revokes the access behind it). Connections made with your own app are unaffected — manage those from your app’s settings in Shopify.
